This is the third replacement and now we are out of warranty, OK I know now - it's a POS. Anyway - This is a fairly new problem - I have tried adjusting the feet levelers - I've tried bouncing it (works on Kenmore models) The basket can be moved from side to side with your hand and it must be loose although they say that's the way it's suppose to be. It walks almost all the time and no it's not overloaded and yes my floors are level. There must be a way to get it to stay level. It's ruining my floor as well.

I've been using this washer or at least the same model for three years and this is a new problem. I still wash the same things in the same quanities. I was hoping someone may know a way to get it back into level. My floors are solid and level.

When "leveling" your washer you are making the same mistake that many others do. Start with the leveling legs turned all of the way onto the washer and only turn them out if needed.

The mistake that everyone makes is they keep turning the legs farther and farther out of the machine until the legs are so far out the machine becomes top heavy. When this happens it does not matter how level or solid the machine is it will walk all over the place.

With all of the legs as far into the machine as you can get them, try to rock the machine from corner to corner diagonally. If it is rocking adjust one of the legs out just far enough to stop the rocking. If you have turned it out too far turn it back in slightly. Don't adjust the other leg out to compensate for the over adjustment because if you keep doing that you will be back to where you are now.

Once you have the machine sitting flat and not rocking tighten the legs in place with the nut on each leg so the setting will not change.

Yes, the basket is supposed to be able to move easily with your hand. It's possible that there is something wrong with it, but that wouldn't be my first thought.

When you adjust the feet, are you actually using a level to check it--both side to side and front to back? And after you level it and then run a cycle, if you check it again afterwards is it still level, or are the feet not holding their setting? Those are the most likely culprits.

Are the floors solid, ie if you bounce up and down on the floor where the washer is, is there any movement to the floor?

Does it bounce around when you run it through a cycle without anything in it?

If this is a continual problem then I would guess it's the owner, wouldn't you? Try putting in smaller loads of wash or smaller batches of heavy things, Levis, stuff like this. This is what is making the machine walk. These loads are getting off side and walking. I'm surprised you haven't thought about it.

You may be careless about distributing your clothes - try
spinning it with no clothes in it and if no problem then that is it.
If it still walks - was the shipping restraints removed ?

If everything is level and balanced and your floor is not spongy, you have a bad tub bearing.

Use wood slates and bricks to keep it in place. I doubt it will hop over.
