What should you do if your gas warning light appears on your car driving on the freeway but your stuck in traffic?

If you aren't in California, get off asap. You probably have about 2 gallons left in your tank and there ought to be an exit off the freeway before you completely run out.

You should have a few miles worth of fuel remaining when the light comes on. If you are really worried, try moving toward the shoulder or turn off the engine during long idling periods.

the best thing you could do is cut the engine off ,and wait till you know traffic is moving,,because it don't have far to go when the light comes on,and idling uses about a gallon an hour,so that would be cutting it real close,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
