Sound travels faster than light. Many people believe the opposite is true, citing as evidence the fact that there is a delay between when you see something far away and when you hear the sound it produces (fireworks, someone hitting a baseball, etc.). Though the sound reaches your ears before the light reaches your eyes, it takes your brain longer to process aural input, while it can process visual input almost instantaneously.

"the speed of sound is more accurate because you'd have to redesign the universe to change the speed of light?" Not quite sure what that means. What school did you go to?
Anyways, the speed of light is much faster, by almost a factor of a million, compared to the speed of sound in the air.

speed of light is the fastest thing in the universe because it is always constant. people have made inventions that are faster than the speed of sound, but no one can ever make something faster than the speed of light.

“Remember that the speed of light only is constant if you can't redesign the universe.”
Meening the speed of light is much faster, but the speed of sound is more accurate.

speed of sound at sea level = 340.29 m / s
so I say speed of light

Light travels at ~3x10^8 m/s in a vacuum, about 3% slower through air and water, and much slower through other substances.
Sound travels at 343 m/s in air. Then slower in other substances.
