That happened to me once. Last year I was going through a kind of stressful time and my left eye twitched for almost 3 months! Crazy 'eh?
I reckon the twitching is either from not enough sleep or from stress.

Arrrggghhh! This happens to me at least 4 times a year - you are probably a little tense, stressed, tired. What usually works for me is closing my eyes and saying to myself - "you are tense, tired and stressed and this is why your eye is twitching. You don't have a brain tumor or Parkinson's." After this it usually goes away. Crazy, yes, but it works for me. Good luck!

More than likely, it is stress.

I used to get a spasm/twitch in the muscle just below my eye anytime someone mentioned my ex's name :P
