I've just answered a Q about Heather Mills, Whatever she's done, does she deserve to recieve as much hate as she has, can any of us honestly say that if we had the chance of being that rich we wouldnt take it? To be fair she does give loads of money to charities. But my main question is, who are we to have an opinion on other peoples lives, celebrity or not, nobody can ever be in possesion of all the facts unless they are directly involved. 'People who live in glass houses' and 'those without sin' are the only sayings my shallow mind can come up with at this hour! Am I reet or am I wrong?

The reason we judge celebrities is that they are the ones who put their life out there in the public. Most of us are very private people, but when someone decides that fame and fortune are more important, they put their lives in the limelight also.
Some people want to be rich and famous and have a private life. It just doesn't work that way these days. If you choose to be rich and famous, you're life is going to be in the spotlight, like it or not. Without your fans, you would be nothing. When your fans are the ones making you rich and famous, they think they deserve to know everything about you good or bad.
I honestly would never want to be rich and famous, my privacy is more important to me. I can't imagine having people following me around with cameras and trying to trace my every move.
I really feel sorry for the celebrities. However, they have money and no privacy. I have privacy and no money. Which is more important?

dunno what reet is.. but they put themselves in the public eye- they want to be famous- fame equals more money- they know this. In the first stages of fame they'r eprepared for all the paprazzi and people talking about them positive or negative. Once they've reached where they want to be- all the little people then become irritating because they are then the nuveau riche- they feel they're being intuded, judged blah blah blah. If anyone goes into show business- one thing has to be clear and pretty obvious- if you're in the limelight- there's going to be the whole package that comes with it. Nobody has the right to judge another person but being in the industry demands tolerance.

Ah! but what about the likes of gay Scott Henshall on the Jungle programme. He proved himself to be a liar and a cheat in front of the whole of Britain. The nasty sneaky little mincer then turned on all the other contestants and slagged them off. We criticise people like him because they are vindictive, sly, and very false. I really hope the little slimeball gets his comeuppance when all the contestants find out what he did and said about them. We do have the right to criticise obnoxious cowardly people like him surely.

thats the power of the media, we shouldnt judge them because we dont even know them, we only know what people print, and we all know that most/some of it isnt anywhere near the truth, but we choose to hate people, maybe because we havent got anything better to do, or because we choose to believe things that people make up

Celebrities give us the right to judge them - if I paraded myself up and down my local high street, I would expect to be judged and to have things said about me, for people to speculate and invent wild rumours based on insignificant truths.
If these people put themselves in the spotlight, they can't expect not to be looked at and judged. It's human nature to speculate and to presume.

You are completely correct. No one has the right to pass judgement on a person they don't know, celebrity or not. There are always TWO sides to every story, and it is not up to us to judge.
