Clarence Thomas is a member of the Supreme Court.
And Thurgood Marshall was a past member!
So far there have been 2 African Americans on the court.

Thurgood Marshell was the first African American Supreme Justice. Clarence Thomas was the only other. Hope this helps

There is 1 now. Associate Justice Clarence Thomas. He was preceeded on the court by the 1st African American on the court, Thurgood Marshall.
