i know how women have children...let me rephrase...why do humans want to children?

If it's a sincere question, then you need to explain what it is you're really asking.
Why do humans want to have children?
That I don't know, as I, myself, don't.
It's probably simply an instinct.
I've known women who just feel a need to have a baby -- some have described it as an ache.
It's just there -- or, in my case, not.

It's an innate behaviour. Biologically we are driven to want to keep on living, this is done through the passing on of our genes. As for who we choose to reproduce with, that was originally done with the person would we felt would be the most likely to produce the strongest offspring, and so allow our genes to survive longer. The whole survival of the fittest.

DO you mean why do women have children as opposed to men having them? They fulfill a role in the evolutionary cycle...
There is some research on the possibility of male reproduction... something about carrying a baby in the scrotum... I bet funding dried up for that quick...
