Harry is a half-blood because only half of his parents were originally from the wizarding world. His Dad, James, was born a wizard, but his mother, Lily, was muggle-born, (she was Harry's Aunt Petunia's sister).
The fact that she became a witch doesn't make him a pure-blood wizard. Both Harry's parents would have to be pure-bloods for him to be pure-blood too, (like Draco and his parents, Lucius and Narcissa).

Harry Potter is a half-blood in the figurative sense. That is what they call wizards with a muggle-born parent and a wizard-born parent. We don't officially know if Harry's father, James was a true pure-blood, especially considering that they are so rare. So percentage wise he may not be a true"half-blood", he could be less.

Harry Potter is a half-blood wizard.
His Mother, (Lily) was not a pure-blood, her mother's sister Petunia where harry lived is a muggle.
But James, Harry's father was a pure-blood wizard.

JK R calls him half-blood and she should know. However, since his mother was a witch (if muggle born) and his father was pure blood, I'm not sure why he is half blood. Unless that is a generic term for 'mixed blood'.

harry is pure-blood becouse both his parents are witch/wizard. if you want to get tecincal he is realy 3/4 pure-blood becouse lillys parents are muggles. and also just to tell you it was his mom that wasn't a pure blood but that doesnt make harry 1/2 blood he'd have to have a muggle parent and a magic parent not two magic parents. so definatly pure!

Half blood because they say so in the book. His mother was of muggle birth. Even though she was brought into witchcraft, she was biologically a muggle.

Saying that he isn't BIOLOGICALLY half is like saying someone who is (for an example, using a friend of mine) is full blooded Filipina even though her parents are biologically Filipino (dad) and Chinese (mom) because both parents were raised in the Phillipines. However, he may feel full-blooded, which is A-OK.

It is a tricky question. On the one hand, both his parents were witch and wizard, on the other, his mother (a witch) was muggle-born. For the sake of discussion, I would say that he is half-and-a-bit.

I think he's a half-blood. His mother was a witch and is father wasn't. Or the other way around.
