People have told me that there isn't a big difference in the PS3 and the xbox 360. I mean I want the PS3 but if there isn't a big difference between the PS3 and the xbox 360 than why spend $200 more for the PS3. What do u guys think????

I think the choice ultimately depends on what kind of games you like to play, and how patient you are.
Trying to find a PS3 before Christmas will be tough, so keep that in mind. XBOXes are available now.
As for games, the PS3's strong points (in my opinion) are the Japanese RPGs that are usually only released for this platform. Games like White Knight (I think that's what it's called) and Metal Gear Solid. The XBOX features games like Halo and the like, more action-y, but still more grown-up than what you'll find on the Wii.
Each system kind of has it's niche, you just have to know what kind of games you prefer. Personally, I'm an RPG fan, but my husband prefers the kind of games you find on the XBOX, and my younger cousin likes the Wii.

The PS3 adds $50 to your electric bill if you play it 2 hours everyday. So if you plan on playing longer than that the 360 would be a better bet. Even thought the electrical is high their supposed to give you Free Internet Service. Go to google and search this for more info like I did you'll learn alot that you would want to know.

You have already stated the main reason to get an Xbox. It's $200 cheaper.
Also, the X360 has all the best games since Microsoft have bought out all the good companies, and their games are cheaper too. The PS3 is a joke now.
Also, if your friends have consoles, get what they have so you can play together.

there is a difference such as the ps3 has blue ray which is the new super dvds coming out.. but if u plan on getting a ps3 retail(not on ebay) then ur going to be waiting till feb or march. but good luck

The Ps3 is better the reason why it is expensive it is because of blue-ray. But sony is being nice,cause if you got to best buy or another store and buy a Blue-Ray player the cheapest one is like $1000,and down

theres a big differenc ps3 has blu-ray dvd so you can watch the new type of dvds that are out! if you dont care about that than never mind !!

xbox360, you have a better chance of finding it and its cheaper. Just don't get it from e-bay. They will ripe you off giving you only a empty box...
