I'm trying to create a book about love. Its about a girl left a guy which he didn't do anything wrong. He try and try get that girl back for second chance but she fell in love with others. Now she gone bad drinking, inviting boys over her house. The problems is im trying make it very sad how do i make a book really sad and make the reader cry?

kill a main character that the reader feels close to.

Describe in detail the guys emotions on finding that she has left him and over her bad choices. You can add regret that the girl feels to that as well.

you can try different approaches(1): have her realize how her lifestyle is hurting her and have her realize that she loves him, but its to late he waited so long and his heart would perish if he waited for her any longer, so he founf other love.or(2):something tragic happens to the girl to make her realize her life is worthless and she loves him, she relizes life is short and they were ment to be.
