The mature rating is used to describe games where, realistically, you're shooting people and killing them... In fact the whole point of the game is to hunt and kill humans.
The problem is, the maturity level of some kids don't allow them to tell the difference between fantasy and reality. GIve them a game like this, and they're a step away from thinking it's ok to kill, because who cares, they die and respawn. Same thing with risky behavior.. if I screw-up I'll learn my lesson, rather than if I screw up, I could actually die.
I had to explain to my son that his grandfather had died and would never be back, that he was not going to respawn and come see him for his birthday. That seems silly to some, but it's realistic for a child to think that way if they haven't been introduced to death before through dead pets, etc..
I also had to punish him when he did a masterchief melee move against a playmate at the park one weekend. He had a toy gun, and smashed the butt of it on the kid's head.
Therefore, yeah.. keep the mature rating. It's easy to say, because I'm not a kid, but it's even easier to say when I see the alternative as a parent. I know it sucks when you're younger, but some of you probably want to be a ninja one day, or a pimp, or gangster,.. it proves my point, or it will, when you're old enough to look back and understand it, assuming you live that long.
Maybe lower the age slightly, but they gotta' do SOMETHING, or 5 year olds will have it..

I dont think there should be an M rateing. or at least lower the age limit to 15 or something. Video games like halo are often the only way young men are able to get out anger and fufil our manly instinks to do battle.

No not at all. There is some blood (spurts when hit and stains after wards). But no limbs are lost and not really any gore. Plus the humans are encased in armor giving them a look/feel of robots. I would rate it teen at best or 10 and over.
