The polar bear is very well capable of killing an alligator given the proper environment so the polar bear would win. While alligators may kill larger prey by grabbing it and dragging it in the water to drown polar bears are too aggressive and strong to let alligators do this to them.

Polar bears are not put off by heat, uncomfortable but not diabled. An alaigator wouldn't even be able to move at all in the cold. They can't maintain the temeprature. Polar bears are too big and too tough to be dragged in my an alligator as well. Alligators are not fast, theya re stalkers with a good bite. Polar bears are massive animals, weighing twice as much. If a Hippo can win against a crocodile without a problem, I am sure that a predatory animal like a polar bear (the largest pred. on earth) who is also a talented swimmer, would win.

It depends on where the fight took place. In or close to water the Alligator. For the simple fact is that they are far more agile and stroger in the water than a polar bear. In the artic circle the polar bear wouldnt even have a fight, because alligators are cold blooded and can not maintain a body temp, in that climate resulting in it's death.

From the encyclopedia:

"Once an alligator reaches adulthood, any animal living in the water or coming to water to drink is potential prey. Adult alligators will eat razorbacks, deer, domestic animals including cattle and pets, and are well known to kill and eat smaller alligators. Larger male alligators have been known to tackle Florida panther and bears, making it the apex predator throughout its distribution."

Now the bears down there are black bears not polar bears and a black bear can weigh 600 pounds at the most. Of course they are referring to very large 16 foot and 1,000 pound alligators or more. A much smaller alligator a cougar could kill in a one-on-one fight on land or in shallow water.

The saltwater crocodile can reach 4,000 pounds and could probably kill a polar bear if they lived on the same continent. But I'd say your standard alligator and your standard polar bear I'm betting money on the bear!

It would depend on where they were. In Florida the alligator would have the home field advantage and would win. But if they were at the arctic circle then I think the polar bear would win.....

It relies upon on the components the place they are battling. no count if it somewhat is warmer, the grizzly bear will win because of the fact the polar bear will overhead right now. If its is chillier, the polar bear will win, beause the grizzly bear would be too chilly to combat to their finished ability.
