Use Aveeno skin lotion after each shave--it is made with oatmeal and really soothes the skin.

No! I have been doing it for a long time now with no bad effects.

Apply an organic, chemical free shave cream before you have a shower, then the beard will be soft and easier to shave by the time you emerge from the shower.

Use a good razor blade and change often.

You might like to use an after shave lotion. Something organic with essential oil like rose as part of the formula.
For good skin care you have to feed the inside as well eg fruit, vegs and loads of water.

Well there are vitamins for heathly skin that you can take. And as crazy as this sounds, I take a prenatal vitamin. I am not pregnant but it doesn't hurt me in any way. In fact, there are so many vital nutrients in prenatal supplements that since taking them, not only is my skin rosy and glowing, my hair is longer and shinier and I have super growth in my nails. And if taking that seems a little too weird for you, your diet is a good fix to healthier skin. Start cutting back on salty foods! Avoid all salt if possible. Drink LOTS of water. My minimum is 9 16.9oz bottles a day. Also, start adding almonds and pumpkin seeds to your diet. I keep a little baggy of both in my purse to snack on through out the day. You'd be surprised how much of a difference you will notice. Also, eating lots of watermelon and fish can make a noticeable difference! another thing to try is skipping the cleansing toner..it could be stripping your skin of moisture. Instead, use a witch hazel as a toner at night only..I would use a gently scrub to exfoliate dead layers on your skin, actually johnsons clean and clear daily pore cleansing scrub is AWESOME! Start with that, then rinse A LOT! it's important to rinse and rinse (a common cause of dull skin is facewash residue) then follow that with the witch hazel (found at any drugstore) then follow with oil of olay pro x hyrdrating cream (be sure to remember your chest and neck) and in the morning I use oil of olay gentle foaming fash wash and then I use a light coating of oil of olay beauty fluid! it seems like a lot but it becomes routine, the products are really affordable and its worth it. I am 29 years and get compliments ALL the time on how youthful and vibrant my skin looks!

The shaving, per se, wont hurt you.
Keep hydrated, use sun-screen daily, dont smoke cigarettes, dont drink alcohol in excess.
