Before Christmas, my rich aunt is coming to our house and she said she was going to take us shopping the whole weekend! I am really excited and I was just thinking...all of my clothes look kiddy, messy, sloppy, and some don't even fit me that well. Should I give all of it away to the Charity Foundation? Like throw it all away....and buy a whole new set of clothes?

Would that be stupid....I mean, I would keep the ones I think are nice but the rest....throw it all away? My aunt said she was going to buy me loads and loads of clothes when she comes and she's always buying us things. Should I? Or shoudl I keep it?

Throw out anything you haven't worn in the past year. I do it every year anyway - just to clean out my closets. I take the clothes a church that gives them to needy families.

What a wonderful rich aunt you have!!! I am totally jealous.

Why don't you and your aunt box up your old clothes and take them to your local homeless shelter for women. They always need clothes and shoes. Then your aunt will see what a wonderful thing she's allowed you to do and buy you even more things on your shopping excursion. The key is to make her a big part of your charity efforts. After all, it's because of her you are able to help others.

Wait until after the weekend shopping trip is over. If you throw everything out before you go shopping, you are sending out a message that you expect your aunt to supply you with a new wardrobe. Which comes across as being very greedy, so it never hurts to be safe, and let her think that whatever she buys is appreciated, but you aren't depending on her to buy your clothing.
After she has left, then go through your closet and pick out all the clothing you want to get rid of and donate it to charity.

Give the clothes you know for sure that you are never going to wear again to charity, and keep the rest - you can never have too much clothes. Have fun shopping! I'm so jealous.

Well I think you should just give some clothes away first then get some new clothes. It only makes sense that you give away then start out with new clothes. I mean Christmas is about giving not always recieving.

i have that problem just like that except my aunt isn't rich so i am keeping all of mine even though i never wear them! And i don't want my dad's feelings to get hurt because most of my clothes that i hate are in that pile. But if it was me i would set them aside until you got your other clothes, and girl if you have enough clothes then go for it!

You should Wait until AFTER your done shopping to decide for sure. Once you see your choices, you will know what you should keep or give to charity. (And yes, you should give it to charity and not throw it away.)
You should wait until after you have for choices for many reasons. For example, you could buy a cute jacket and realize that you have the perfect shirt for it at home.

Of course wait until AFTER you get all of those new clothes before you decide to donate your older ones so you're not left hanging when you don't get the new ones for some reason. It's awesome of you to think of donating your clothes. You should go for it if you can replace them but don't do it if is going to put you out as well. You don't want to need donations too!

Give to charity. More helpful to others if all the clothes are just laying in your closet, I recently gave LOADS of clothes to charity group - Marklund.
