ok...i kno like everyone says that if u have clean hands n stuff u wont get tss from tampons but im still horrified to try it. like idk i just freak out i can have one in for like five minutes n then i get nervous n take it out...help!!

If, you're worried about Tampons & TSS don't use them!
There are many different Kotex type varieties to use, depending on your bleeding needs.

Having clean hands has nothing to do with tss. You can still get tss if you leave a tampon in too long, no matter how clean your hands are.
It's important not to wear a tampon with more absorbancy than you require. Because of this new users should stick to junior size tampons, and replace them every 4-8 hours.
Everything new is awkward at first... you just have to get used to it.

You can't get TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) from unclean hands. What causes it is having a tampon in for more then 8 hours. What you should do is put a tampon in and only have it in for 4 hours. The paper inside the box says its ok up till 8 hours but if your still scared only leave it in for four and you'll be fine.

Ok, The odds of getting TSS is much less than it used to be. It is so rare. Also, if you take it out after 4 to 5 hours it reduces your risk even more so. Hope I helped.

This is not so much something about the tampon as it is conquering the fear in your mind. It's true what they say is that fear is your greatest enemy. Tampons are usually safe for up to seven hours. Select the absorbency that is best for your flow, and try not to use a tampon that is not large enough to absorb your flow. Toxic shock syndrome comes from bacteria in a tampon that has been inside you for a fairly long time. So no need to freak out. Just jump the fear hurdles in your mind and everything will be peachy, I promise!
