For the last 2-3 days I have noticed a strange squeeling noise coming from my engine bay, I only hear it if im at a redlight or drive thru or something, not when driving, it seems to be happening during low rpms only, >1k rpms usually. What do you guys think it could be?

alternator or water pump bearing...if it was a belt it would get louder as you accelerate. There is the possibility of the belt...with the engine running take a cup of water and pour over the belts...if it quits then it's a belt...if not then most likely a bearing.

I don't know what type of vehicle you have, but I'm willing to bet you have a bad idler pulley (bearing in the idler pulley) or auto-tensioner pulley. When idling, try to spray a thin lubricant on the pulley head. Only one pulley at a time. When the noise stops, you've located your bad pulley. Now if you spray WD-40 or any other lubricant on the belt and it goes quiet, then you surely have a belt squeak. Good luck.

Could be the belt squeeling but it is more likely a pulley bearing going bad which could go out tomorrow or next year.

Does it get higher in pitch when you rev up the car and then stop altogether? If so it's probably a belt, otherwise it could be a waterpump bearing or something like that...

Sounds like a classic loose belt.

Most likely is a belt, or the tensioner isn't doing its job anymore.
