Otherwise you can start an IRA and contribute hundreds or thousands a year.

they will take a % out of your paycheck every week and most companies will match it, my husband gives 6% and has put in over $2000 in less than a year

I don't think it requires a number of dollars. You just need to start putting a % of your paycheck away every month
