Every woman is different so are her genes & when she would start her menses. Why don't you ask your female relatives like your mom or aunt to see when they started bleeding, this would give you a better idea when you start.

Your body just isn't ready yet. My mom told me she didn't get hers until she was 17, and obviously her body worked just fine, because I'm here, and so is my sister! If you're very tall, 85 pounds may be a little on the low side, and a woman who has a very low percentage of body fat generally won't have periods. This happens to female athletes fairly often, as well as victims of anorexia. If you're concerned, get your parent(s) to make an appointment with your doctor, but chances are your body just needs a bit more time.

First of all...don't listen to the people on here that says "just eat and put on weight" Because some people can't help it if they can't gain weight. I know that some people struggle to lose weight and some even struggle to gain weight. But if being so little is intentional...well that's a different story. But yes, low body weight does have an effect on the menstrual cycle. You also haven't told us your height. If you're shorter, you're usually gonna weigh less, because you're not requiring as much weight because of your height. But, it's true that when you finally DO get your period, you hate it! That's the case with all females. But, I would advice talking to a doctor, specialist, or dietician - expecially a dietician. I would recommand that you eat healthy, and make sure you get all your nutrients. Fruits, veggies, protein, dairy, etc...that would help alot. I wish you the best sweetie. Take care and God bless.

There is no set date to get your period. Some girls get it in early teen years, some mid years, and some late teen. I know someone who didn't get hers until 18. If you are tinier, then it may take a while, you may not be fully developed. A good guide is to look at when your mother got hers - but that isn't always the same as your case. If you are really worried, just ask your mom about it.

Be thankful you've been blessed with a slightly longer than normal childhood. Most children are in such a rush to grow up, yet when they finally do ... and moreso later in life .. wish they could just be kids again.
Perhaps you're a late bloomer, but that could be good. If you're worried about it, ask your doctor.

i don't know how tall you are, but being 85 pounds probably puts you as being underweight. if you aren't of normal weight, then you will not get your period, just like anorexics stop having their periods. you should try to gain some weight, not only to get your period, but also so that you can be healthy and not develop any health problems.

puberty hits girls at very different times... don't be concerned, this may take as long as until you're 18. talk to your doctor if you are really concerned.
