In a Marriage rut...?

Question

We have been married for 11 years. I would never dream of straying. I love my husband but he never tells me I am beautiful anymore. I lack attention and romance. Any thoughts?

Omg. im going through the same thing. Ive been married 13 years. I recently left for a few days. That helped. But if your husband is like mine. He will NEVER be romantic. Never has been. Think of things to spice things up w/him. I e mailed my husband photos of me in my nighty. That helped. Ya know. life in general can stress you out and wear you down. That could be the reason for lack of attention. Be careful. Lots of people on here prey on women like us.

that isn't a good enough reason to stray, lol. you're going to have to ask him, no one can really answer that question for you but him and there's no easy way to get the attention and romance back, but you should at least attempt to open up the door to communication. i get told that all the time, and then i do get romantic for a bit but it doesn't last and i get back into my old rut. some times you have to do stuff when you don't necessarily want to, or are too lazy too, that's what makes the marriage work!

Everyone gets complacent in relationships, we take each other for granted.
I've just come out of my rut, where i was telling my husband for a year that things werent right.
In the end i asked him to leave, a little drastic but it did wake him up and i had tried everything else.

Try to access is child with a hobbie u both like, look at magazines with quiz's about relationships.
Dress up for him etc

It takes two to tango, and you reap what you sow. Give him what he needs most, and the usual results [though may have to wait like the farmer to see it!] is he reciprocates and gives you what you need.
Try communicating this need in as non offensive or not nagging way as possible. Give him the opportunity without pressure, with pressure you will not get what you want, will get resentful actions instead.
Look for an underlying problem within marriage- him, you, or the relationship. Try to fix or find a fixer [therapist].
Heard it said that sex produces the emotional link for the guy, so maybe [shrugs] spicing up the bedroom would kickstart his heart?

Well go and get some alcohol and take a few drinks, make yourself up really nice, and when he comes home, stand him up against the wall and kiss him, and work your way down to his zipper, and give him the blow- job of his life, but the trick is to make him stand there so he can look down and see how pretty you really are. Have you stopped paying as much attention to your appearance as you use to? If so, start by dressing up a lil bit more, do your make up, curl your hair...If you feel sexy, you'll look sexy and he will notice that. make an effort to treat him how you want to be treated and if it doesn't come back to you, then be patient..... talk to him about it too of course, but you should show him as well as talk to him about what you need from the partnership
