When you tell someone "I Promise", do you?

I will NEVER say "I promise" to do anything - I say "I promise to try...." because anyone who says that they will never break a promise is just tempting the evil of the world to make them go back on a promise. By saying I promise to try, at least I am saying that I will do everything in my power to keep my promise, but that I cannot control outside influences.

That way if something goes wrong and I can't keep my promise, it's NOT because I didn't try.
