I don't think so. Their team was very aggressive yes, but the USA made mistakes. That being said, I don't think the ref was fair to call a penalty. I think it should've been a tied game.

I'm a USA supporter, so please, no one give me any heat for my answer.

If the USA makes mistakes, then they make mistakes. You can't say that the USA deserved that win because they did not play to their best efforts, and that is their fault. Ghana had the upper hand that day and they came through and beat the USA. They completely deserve that win because they gave the better effort and succeeded. Sure, the USA could've had the POTENTIAL to beat Ghana, but to judge whether a team deserved a win or not should not be based on potential but on the efforts that were put forth in that particular match.

So, yes, Ghana deserved to beat the USA. The USA fell through, and Ghana defeated them. It is not Ghana's fault that the USA lost. Well actually it is...But it's the USA's fault that they let Ghana win! Good effort by Ghana :)

USA, better luck next time!

The US did make a lot of mistakes in the World cup and they also had some really bad luck. The Penalty in the Ghana game was obviously controversial, but having Mastroeni sent off with a straight red against Italy was terrible! The whole campaign the US never seemed settled.

But returning to Ghana, they played a strong game. Even had they not gotten that penalty the US attack seemed pretty tame and did not find much success despite quality players like Donovan and McBride.

Of course Ghana deserved to beat the USA. the USA didn't even deserve to be ranked as highly as they were. But i do support the USA team, however the way they were playing the whole World Cup..any team really deserved to beat them. Bruce Arena sucks to begin with so i'm not suprised they did so poorly under that man.

Well what do you mean , Ghana played better soccer that day and they won . And about the penalty , it happens too often now , U.S.A is not the only team with whom wrong has been done . and I think the penalty was fair enough . Ghana won it , and if they did they deserved it , It doesn not matter who deserved it and who not , the main thing is to play good soccer which ghana did and won the match . U.S.A played very poor soccer this World Cup - Thats the truth .

Thanks

The USA did not play well since start. They showed little efforts unlike Ghana. Fair game.

A team that makes the mistakes the USA made in that game deserves to lose.

Yes b/c america played horrible. Arena used a 4-5-1, which is ok unless all your mid's suck at attacking like ours. and Eddie Johnson who is argueably the fastest on the field and our best scorer was a sub the whole time.

Ghana played very well as a team. Essien is a great leader and his teammates respond to his level of play.

The Oguchi Onyewu foul that led to a penalty was total Bullshit though. clean play but there player fell down because Onyewu is a beast on the backline. I think we can all agree world cup officials were sub par.

Dempsey's purpose became attractive, because of a attractive help! Ghana's first purpose became valid to boot. Ghana had the game contained in the starting up, in spite of the indisputable fact that the U. S. stepped it up and that i ought to confirm the pastime they'd with all those tries on the purpose on the right. They held their own, and that i imagine they gave Ghana a run for his or her money. i imagine its honest to assert that the U. S. performed like winners in the present day. undesirable call, ref, undesirable call...

A team like the USA deserved to lose...the USA qualifies for the WC and never does anything with it...a team like Ghana tried their best and got prettey far, all things considered. it was bad luck that they had to face brasil right away.
