My daughter has a runny nose and this morning she woke up with whitish/yellow discharge from her eye. I don't think its pink eye but some kind of conjunctivitis. Her eye isn't red just a lot of discharge and a little swollen. Please help has anyone ever experinced this with their child?

Try boiling some water and put a little salt in then let it cool down and wipe her eyes with a cotton ball. My doctor told me to do this with my children and it worked. If the eyes get red it could be an infection go and see your doctor and they will prescribe something for it.

Ask your pediatrician just to make sure, however when my one year old had pink eye a friend suggested I use a small amount of baby shampoo and wash their eyes with it....NOTE this does sting a little despite the "tear free" claim, but for some reason it worked.

It's probably a blocked tear duct.
Antibiotics will work.
If you go to the doctor's office, don't let a nurse practitioner tell you she has pink eye and then send you home.
She may have pink eye, but get it straight from the doctors mouth.

Yes, when my daughter was a baby she also had conjunctivitis. Be careful it is extremely contagious and the only way to get medicine for it is through prescription so my advise to you is take her to her primary care physician ASAP! Good luck! And don't worry she will be fine as long as she gets medicine.

Breastmilk: it will cure bacteria, viral and fungal infection. Just squirt it in a few times a day.

Otherwise polysporin eye drops. Most docs won't even see you for conjunctivitis anymore.

If it is conjuntivitis, it can go from one eye to the other and back. You need to see a Dr. to get an eye ointment or drops.

You should really take her to the doctor. Then they can give you the correct way to haddle it.
