You have to have about six inches, but for good snowboarding you want about 5 or 6 feet. That guarantees that most of the ground is covered. That's about 66 inches. Without that, bare spots will start showing up if there are many people on that slope or if it is not groomed often.

Enough to create a good snow pack and you can't see the grass through the snow. You'll want at least 6 inches but the more the better. Probably 12 is best for you to be able to board really well.

You can slide on a half an inch. But I think you're gonna need at least 6 inches if you want to use your edges. And that would probably be bare minimum.

As little as 1/2" or even a dusting if you know how to ride flat. 6+ inches is best to really get a good edge grind in though
