I know some may think they suck but…
My lexmark Z25 printer is attatched through a cable toa USB port in my Imac. It normally works, but for some reason, it is not working. I think the computer is not sensing a connection to the printer, it tries to open a connection, but every time, it just stops. I could be wrong, and maybe its another problem. It will not print any docs at all. I have tried unplugging and replugging, restarting comp, turnin off printer, and turning it on again, and the Lexmark.com page will not load, says Bad Gateway. Please help me! Thanks!

Here are some more things to try:
- remove printer, uninstall the printer (via the Control Panel printer page); then restart the computer and reinstall it as if it is a new printer.
- try a different USB port, but make the new USB port connection through the printer Properties. (open the printer section, right click on the printer and pick PROPERTIES, then check the PORT section)
I have found that the Lexmark tech support people are quite good. They once sent me new parts for a Z25 printer that was well out of warranty at no charge. BUT, the Lexmark itself still sucks. So next time, get a Canon... they are awesome.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

We had this issue with old lexmark we had and deinstall then reinstall of the driver (make sure you download the latest) fixed for us. Although about 2 weeks later the controller card died. We switched to a new printer after that as replacing this card is expensive. Hope it gets fixed for you. Also if the USB port is part of a hub make sure it is plugged into the exact same slot as before. This is not supposed to make a difference and yet sometimes it does. :)

I don't know much about IMACs, but, when I can't get a usb to see my device any more, I unplug it from the computer, go to the device control panel and make sure it is uninstalled. Then I reboot with out it in, go make sure it is still uninstalled, then turn computer off, plug in device, and turn computer on again.
Sometimes this works, and sometimes I just end up contacting the device manufacturer for help. I have had to return a number of units because the USB would not recongnize it.
Good luck.

Try uninstalling the printer and then try reinstalling the printer through a different usb port. This might work. Good Luck =)

It sounds like you have a problem with the driver for that printer.
Go to Lexmarks site or any of the Mac support sites and you should be able to find where you can download the driver that will work best for your operating system and that printer.
Cheers.

Have you tried using your printer on a different computer? The printer might be defective. Have you tried stopping and restarting your print services?

I know diddly about Macs, but it sounds like your USB port has gone bad. It happens. It's a relatively cheap and easy fix on a PC, but I know nothing about Macs.
