I want to be able to type in my name and see pictures come up under the image category for whatever search engine I'm using. Any suggestions how I can do that? I understand if I just name the picture with my name it should work, but I'm still not having any luck with specific free photo hosting services online.

take a picture of yourself, name it your name.jpg, and imbed it in the index.html of a public web site. it should start showing up after the next "spider" by the search engine. It helps to have a real domain name for the web site and not just a hosted site by an ISP (www.something.com versus www.isp.com/~yoursite/). Search engines don't normally crawl through photos on a photo site like yahoo photos.

It has to be on a website somewhere...maybe the hosting will work if they allow image indexing but it takes a while for the engines to locate it and index it...sometimes months.

That won't work. You have to metatag the site. Try Google or About for more information on metatagging.
