I have got a standed xbox (not 360) and would like to use it as a dvd player but needs to have an extra bit on it and was wondering if there is a way to play dvds on it without the extra part.

Thanks

Yes, but it requires you to open and mod your xbox. Which in the end isn't the best way to go.

The thing that you buy is only to control the DVD, for exampling pausing or skipping chapters.

Now there are some controllers that have these features on them but they will cost you more. Best way pay the $25 for the Remote Signal Reciever and Remote Control, they both come in the same package.

Hope that helps.

No: Either you need the adapter or you need the Deluxe 360, which has that feature built in. Sorry, dude.
