Ahhh...you just became goth?...so obviously you weren't goth before, so why can't other people change? I mean, do you think that your "gothness" made you unique and now your feeling threatend by the fact that anyone can do it and it really dosn't set you appart as much as you had hoped? And you say she looks mean and evil....do you look mean and evil? not to be mean, but it's almost like there's a double standered...I mean you can do your thing but she has to stay the same little sweet girl she used to be? Shouldn't you let her be what SHE wants to be not what you do?...would you like it if people told you you couldn't be goth and had to go back to wearing khaki pants and polo shirts? That being said if you think she is doing it ONLY to fit in with you, you can tell her that she dosen't have to dress that way to be friends with you, you'll be friends with her no matter what, but that she should be herself and you'll respect her no matter what she decides.

Just because you did it first doesn't mean she's doing this to be like you. Maybe she wanted to in the first place but was too shy to brave it alone? She'll probably get defensive or call you a hypocrite if you try to talk her out of it. . . so I wouldn't go that route.
However, if you think she looks better as a girly girl- well, you could steer her in the direction of the sparkley goth looks. Really- you can be the girliest girl on the planet and be goth. It's much easier to do the girly thing when all your clothes are made of velvet or lace. The goth look isn't limited to black pants and t shirts with a lot of straps. She could do the velvety-mopey, corseted thing, or do the victorian mourning look.
You could both do some looking around and try to broaden your horizons a little bit. For fashion tips and music news, this is a good place to start.

She obviously sees something in the way you dress that she likes and is inspired. I doubt everything she wears is a true replica of what you are wearing, hense she is discovering her own style. I don't know how young you are, but you should like a teenager, and teenagers often try to find ways to express themselves and experiment with their style. Your friend should be allowed to too. And really, converse shoes with anarchy symbols on them aren't very goth. And one doesn't just become goth by wearing black and eyeliner. It's a lifestyle/music genre/and way of thinking and viewing the world.

uhm....well the answer is in your first sentence "this year I became goth." If you can just decide to "become goth," then why can't others? Sounds like she's copying you....but sounds like you're copying someone else too.
In high school, it's all about which uniform you choose to put on. Everyone eminates everyone else. Be different -- just like everyobody else. It's a vicious circle. Besides by next year you'll probably be a cheerleader, so just lay off your friend. Perhaps even take it as a compliment!

Question for you...when you became Goth, who inspired you? It's not like you're the first to think of it. Did it ever occur to you that she's doing exactly what you did? Make a transformation based on someone else's example? You did it...you "became" goth which means you "became like someone else" and you think it's wrong for her to do the same? She's probably just trying to not lose you as a friend and if this is what she needs to do to keep you, she's willing.

From what it sounds such as you may desire to enhance up. The poem is incredible and this is not terrible. you in all probability have no thought what she is going with the aid of prevalent. as a substitute of cursing and swearing your head off on the subject of ways you will slap her for the period of her face; take a seem at your self and positioned your self in her shoes. in basic terms because of the fact she is "emo" doesnt propose that she continues to be the comparable previous pal which you have. perhaps she is feeling this type because of the way you take care of her? If she is reducing herself then help her. in my opinion, If I the place her, I wouldnt be your pal on the grounds which you do not sound like a pal. and you ovously do not understand the way it feels to be bullied. Everyones problems are diverse and impression them in diverse techniques. If she is doing this to be herself and you will make it worse then you definately arent a real pal. She merits somebody greater advantageous then you definately. So improve up, and settle for her for who she is, once you're a real pal.

Goth is hot but has it's place. While you're young there's no problem with expressing yourself by going goth. But as you get older, the places in this world for a goth become more restrictive...right down to jobs..... so enjoy it for now, but know...it too shall pass.

How can you just become goth?
That's like saying I just became prep or emo, you can't just become one.
Why do you have to be anything, why not be yourself and stop giving a damn what anyone thinks of you.

Tell her she looks like another kid who shops at Hot Topic too much. Is she going 'to the dark side' because she likes you and wants to be like you, or because she feels drawn to it? She's a teenager interested in a fad. She'll change. Just give her time.
