Yes it is. for my first 3 months when i was pregnant i actually lost weight. But yes it is completly normal for the first few months. Then you should start gaining weight very time you go to the OBG. Hope this helps.

Congratulations, Its is very common to loose weight during the first trimester as your not eating any more then before you were pregnant and the baby is draining you off all the good foods, I wouldn't worry to much but if you continue loosing weight during the second trimester I would consult a doctor to see it you could take some weight gaining power or something. You will get more of an appetite during the second trimester, It could also be caused by morning sickness. Eat smaller meals more frequently during pregnancy rather then 3 main meals, spread it over 7 meals just smaller then a main. The more you are full the better supply for the baby as it doesn't drain you all in one go it takes little bits at a time in longer frequency's. Best of luck.

Very common. I'm due in two weeks and I've only gained a total of about 10 pounds throughout this pregnancy. I had really bad morning sickness for the first 6 and a half months.
Then I started eating and keeping it down and I was still losing. I lost 5 pounds in a matter of days. Keep in mind it can all be water weight.
If there are any problems, you doctor would let you know. Good luck!

I'm not sure if it's "common" but I can tell you that with my second pregnancy I actually lost 15 lbs by the time I found out I was pregnant at about 10 weeks. I continued to have severe morning sickness so I made sure I was taking my prenatal vitamins and made "every bite count."
You may want to consult with your prenatal caregiver.

i've never been pregnant myself, but i've heard with morning sickness and all the nausea you experience it is common to not start gaining weight right away. 17 weeks seems kind of long to be losing weight. i'd talk to your doctor to make sure everything is ok.

Don't sweat it. As long as doc says everything is ok with baby, enjoy the luck of being one of those women whodon't gain 90 pounds. My 1st pregnancy I wore my own clothes til the start of the 6th month. Blew up like a house the third trimester though. He was 8lbs 2ozs. Good luck.
