why is it desirable to know the exact concentration of solutions rather than whether they are concentrated or dilute ?????

Think about it - say you were about to put a saline solution onto your contact lenses, to clean them before you put them into your eyes. Wouldn't you want to make sure that the exact concentration matches what is recommended [and your eyes' salinity] vs. just knowing whether they are concentrated or dilute?
