mendel and the exception is called linkage, it is the exception to his law of independent assortmant.

Gregor Mendel was the father of genetics. Not too sure about exceptions.

Fahter of genetics is the Austrian Monk named Gregor Mendel. He worked on his iniheritance and his law of independent assortments states something like: one pair of factors assort independently of another pair of factors. The exception to his law i believe but am not sure is polygenic in heritance where one trait is governed by several genes occupying different loci on the same or different homologous pair of chromosomes
