It's all about retail business making money.People are told they have to give presents to loved ones.Spend and give.No money? Then charge it.
It's all about money making. THAT'S NOT WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE.

I also went but I went much later in the day, in my area there are about 7 walmarts within a 30 minute drive so not much was crazy as you saw. I imagine your situation is different. People going nuts for stuff like that could be a great sign that people are supporting xmas or that people are greedy. Eiether way, look at it this way, people buying things is a good thing for the economy and hopefully for you when xmas gets here.

What happened is that the politically correct crowd made us deny what Christmas is all about. So now instead of being faced with kindness, forgiveness, acceptance and good cheer taught by the Bible (and whether you believe in God or Jesus Christ or not, those are all good things to learn), we're faced only with the rest of it. It's the stress without the love that causes people to behave this way. We don't see our kids in Christmas plays at school anymore, we don't have Christmas parties with mistletoe and silliness at work anymore. We have "holiday programs" and "holiday parties" and it's absolutely forbidden to mention what exactly the "holiday" is all about---peace, love and joy.

If you don't see it, it's easy not to feel it. If you're asked to hide it (I was once told that my Christmas tree pin was offensive and asked to remove it), it makes you angry.

i totally agree with you. i just avoided shopping after thanksgiving...sure there are good deals but its not worth getting trampled on. i can remember christmas when i was a little kid, it was so fun and enjoyable. i would even get this good feeling in my stomache (butterflys almost) now its just stress :(
