My ex was 10 years older than me. He used me as arm candy and I broke it off. This was @13 yrs ago. He made me feel like I was only a pretty face with nothing upstairs. I recently contacted him and he is married w/ kids and a stay home wife and works like 3 jobs to maintain his life. I am a professional and hold a title as exclusive as his. I told him what I do for a living and he wanted to meet me in NY for coffee. I just got a promotion and now hold a higher position than him and only work 1 job. Now he is being short and blowing me off. Why would he do that?

It is sad that you don't support the working women of the world. Many of us have great deals of education and chose to use it in the workplace just as many home makers have the same education and chose to use it in the home. All women should support each other... He probably is jealous and never expected you to achieve something better then him he feels like you have dumped on his masculinity. Anyways he is married and with kids I would leave him alone and find a guy for yourself it is not worth it to get into anything with him. You have basically shown him that he was the idiot and that you are a smart successful women and have the looks that he once considered as just arm candy. Love life and find a guy who loves you for who you are no man deserves to treat a lady like a peace of property or in your past case a piece of candy. I wish you all the best in all that you do. No REAL man would be impressed that his wife worked or didn't work. Wives of successful men do not work. Wives of successful men shop, do tea and talk on the phone all day with their mother. In other words, wives of successful men do whatever the hell they want. And, say whatever nonsense you want to say, the only woman who WANTS to work is a liar! Working wives are in the suburbs making payments on EVERYTHING and comparing how much junk they can collect with other working wives whose husbands don't think they are worth busting their butts for either. No real man is impressed with that. He is embarrassed by it. Only a naive women would think her (real) man gives a crap if she works at a flower shop twice a week or is president of IBM. Only under-employed pickup-truck-i'm-in-a-union sissy boys making payments on their F-150 think a wife that works is a feature. This alone shows you have no idea how to handle a real man.
Worry more about the size of your behind and less about some dumb job and you would have kept him.
But don't worry too much, he used you up like a stick of gum and spit you out. He'll do the same with the new chick. But then again, maybe not. He is busting his butt to take care of a WOMEN who obviously knows how to be a women. You and your BIG JOB sound like you'd be a pretty good roommate. Maybe he didn't want a roommate. Maybe he needed a women who needed him. Maybe he wanted a women, a lady, who did tea with the girls, who shopped, who swam 10 laps before breakfast, who sexed him up like a porn star and said "work?! you've got to be joking!" Next time aound treat your man like a man and see how that goes. And if your so-called "man" objects, throw him and his pickup truck out the damn door *before* you marry the jerk.

Why are you even bothering with a guy that treated you so badly and is now married with KIDS! He only wanted you for a pretty face and now would probably use you for your money! Move on and feel good knowing he didn't hold you back or make you what you are today!

Because you remind him of a better life he could have had instead of the miserable existence he's barely carving out under the pressure of 3 jobs and trying to be a father. Take it as a compliment, you're just that much better than him.

He probably never saw you as someone who could be so successful. Also, you are still free and beautiful while marriage, kids, and age has probably kicked his buttocks. Stay away from him or he will use you again and ruin your good life.
