Who else thought Nolan Screwed up?

Question

I thought he should have let the team go for it on fourth and inches instead of kicking the field goal. I think they would have gotten it and been able to at least take more time of the clock. IT was maddening. The niners should have won that game.

i did im a huge niners fan and was so upset when they didnt go for it the clock probably would have ran out and they would have won 4 consecutive games for the first time in really really long and maybe even have a chance to make the playoffs im so MAD!!!! it still drives me crazy thinkin bout it

No kidding. He obviously did not have enough faith in his team. He thought the Rams would jam it down the defense's throats. He was protecting against the Rams winning by a field goal. He was coaching scared. He was trying not to lose the game, rather than win it.

The 49ners could have gone over .500. By kicking the field goal, he sold out his defense. Nolan was letting his defense know, he didn't trust them enough to stop the Rams from coming down and getting a field goal for sure. The defense quit on him.

I think he is a good coach most of the time. He has taken a lack luster team to 5 wins. However, I think with the 49ners not being that great, they needed to make sure they won. This is a young team. He should have gone for broke with them. The team is not expected to be in the playoffs, at least they could have been in the hunt. Gain some experience. Ball bounces there way, you never know.

The niners have very little to lose... That was a time they should have thrown caution to the wind and gone for the touchdown... Getting nothing would've led to a loss that wouldn't have ended their season seeing that they aren't making the playoffs.
