Coin collecting. There are all different types. Some people collect old coins. Some collect only silver or gold coins.
I collect foreign coins. I try to get as many different kinds from each country that I can, whether they're rare and pricey, or a common every-day penny from across the sea.

Hmmm...
# toy-making kits (with all the parts supplied - available from most hobby shops)
# ragdoll making - surprisingly easy! and a good use for old school shirts
# learn a musical instrument - something simple and unusual like the ocarina or the tin whistle
# learn to speak a language with one of those cd courses - try something different, like swahili, or Catalan, a spanish language
# volunteer somewhere, like a dogs' home, or a charity shop, or an old peoples' home.
# join a community choir, just in time for christmas
# learn how to draw manga - japanese cartoons - you can buy books off the internet or in some bookshops but watch out for pervy ones
# try writing poetry! there are lots of groups on the net you can join
# or maybe short fiction?
# take up photography - start with a digital camera, maybe go to some classes and you never know where you might end up
# how about SCRAPBOOKING - it's like a diary with pictures. great for memories and a good group activity - maybe visit a relative and get them involved?
# BURY A TIME CAPSULE. get your friends together and write bits about your life now and your hopes for the future. put in objects and photos that symbolise your life right now. dig it up in twenty years and you'll have a wonderful snapshot of your life right now. and it might help you understand your kids better, when you have them...
# go canoeing
# learn line-dancing
That's all my ideas for now. have fun!

I look through magazines and find an interesting picture of a craft item and try to make my own pattern for it. Then make one. I have made snowmen, Santa's, dolls, wedding bears and bunnies, etc. Also do wood crafts, and paint with acrylics. I also like to do scrapbooking. I have also made soaps and candles, and sometimes I sew. There are many things you could do, just look around, you will see something that strikes your fancy!
Good luck in your quest for a new adventure!

Try reading a good book, I suggest going to the book store, or library, they are free, and get the first of a series of books, that way if you get hooked you got more to come, I love anything by Sandra brown, Julia Quinn, Julie Garwood, or the harry potter books, they make me laugh, and are much better then the movies

Try learning to draw?
I've recently taken up knitting. It's easy, it's relatively cheap (but some yarn can be expensive!) and it's portable. Also, at the end of it, you wind up with a one-of-a-kind hat or scarf to wear in winter! Makes good Christmas presents, too.
You could also try making jewelry out of beads or clay?

I had tons of "doll heads" given to me and I couldn't figure out what to do with them. I attached them to empty plastic juice bottles, water bottles, coffee creamer bottles etc. Then I made outfits to cover the whole thing (you need to make sure the the neck is covered). I've sold many and given lots away too. My most prized though are a bride and groom.

Air dry clay is great...no need for firing it just dries out and is ready to paint. Also if you can't wait to paint it then use acrylic paint on it straight away.
You can make anything...I've made models of cigarettes, houses, tea light holders etc.
Buy a kit dolls house and gradually furnish it. You can make some of the furniture too.

I make something called french beaded flowers-all you do is bead seed beads onto a wire and twist the wire up in certain ways to create a flower-much easier than it looks and sounds.
