1. Having a cousin as an alumnus does not give you admissions preference at any college. However, at some colleges, having a parent as an alumnus (or alumna) can work for you in terms of admissions.
2. Brown requires every applicant for admission to Brown in 2006-2007 to submit results of either the SAT Reasoning Test and any two SAT Subject Tests (except for the SAT Writing Test), or the ACT taken with the Writing Test option.
(Note: prior to March, 2005, the SAT Reasoning Test was known as the SAT I and the SAT Subject Tests were known as the SAT II.)

1. No, the school will not give you more leeway just because your cousin graduated from wash u and your probably not guaranteed a spot at the school just because your cousin graduated from there either.
2. Brown University does let you sub the ACT for the SAT, but you still have to take the writing part of the SAT even if you submit the ACT score instead of the SAT score.

1.) No
2.) The ACT and SAT are basically the same test, but run by differetn organizations. Almost all colleges will accept either one. The SAT II subject tests will probably be required for a school like Brown.

no, not normally unless your mom or dad is the alumnus. Check out the Washington website. Not totally sure, maybe some little discount like you mentioned.
Check out the Brown website. However, since Brown is such a highly respected school, I think that not only the ACT would be required, but a score of 24+ would be needed to get in

1. no...i dont think washu even takes into account if your parents went there. but they do respond to big monetary dontations.
2. take the sat. most people applying to schools on the east coast will either take both or only take the sat. by taking the act it makes it harder for the school to compare you to its current students and applicants. i always think of act as a midwest kind of thing (more schools in the midwest will take just the act...but for washu i'd still take the sat)

1. No, most universities do not give leeway to relatives of graduates.
2. Normally you have to take both for Ivy League admissions.
