I guess everybody is different, what I would do in the beginning is probably buy a house, and then a new car, and well whatever else I want after that basically

The very first thing to do is protect the ticket (and sign the back).
Tell no one (outside of family and I personally wouldn't even tell them in my case), no matter how excited you are.
Call the Lotto regional office and tell them you have the ticket. You do not have to give your name at that time. They will ask for some numbers on the ticket (like an ID number). This will tell them for sure that you are the winner. Get a Lawyer (if it's a very large amount) and set up a partnership with you as President.
Contact the Lotto office again and tell them you are ready to collect. You will go to the state office and go thru the ceremony of collecting the money. You will get your picture taken with the large ceremonial check. Some reporters will ask you dumb questions, then leave. Have to money directly deposited into your partnerships bank account. Enjoy the fame for the moment, but keep a level head for the long run.

First thing I'll do is sign my name at the back of the lottery ticket - this ensures that if anybody finds it with my signed name, they are not able to cash it.

Second step is to consult a financial adviser on any taxes, etc.

Third thing I'll do is pay off my debts, then buy a house - cash of course then travel and enjoy life but don't forget to give something back, maybe make a donation to your charity of choice.

Don't answer your phone. Sit down with a tax person and plan what to do so you don't wind up in bankruptcy.
