Broiler works great / stove works well. It's just the oven.

Does it just heat up slowly or is it not hot enough...
It may need a simple gas adjustment to give it more fire and faster preheating, or a thermostat calibration to regulate the temperature. Southern California Gas can check it out for you at no charge if you live in their service territory. Or you can get additional info @ http://www.repairclinic.com/

Each part of an oven requires at least one heating element and a control knob/switch which comes complete with a sensor probe. The element to the oven is the most likely cause. You need to isolate your cooker and gain access to the oven heater element(s) and check their conductivity. Any handyman should be able to test it with an ohmmeter. The spare parts are normally inexpensive.

Probably the thermostat is shot. If I remember right Roper is the military brand of Whirlpool. Maybe you can track a part down through them.
Google search for you.

This place lets search by model number, yours Roper partially showed up, but a few letters were missing.
