Ky jelly is only a lubricant not a spermicide. The fact that you got pregnant was because you were trying, and the KY jelly had nothing to do with conception except making intercourse a little easier or more pleasurable. You'd have gotten pregnant with or without the KY jelly.

KY jelly is NOT a spermicide. It is a lubricant. It does not increase you chances of getting pregnant anymore than having unprotected sex would. The best explanation is that you had ovulated and your partner's sperm arrived just in time. That's all. If you want to conceive in the future easier you can buy an ovulation tracker in the same aisle as you would find a pregnancy test in your local major chain drug stores like CVS, Walgreens, or Rite Aid. The tracker will tell you the most fertile days of your cycle by measuring the hormone concentration in your urine. If you have unprotected sex on those days then you can increase your chances of getting pregnant because your body would have just released an egg.

KY is a lubricant not a spermicide or any type of birth control. It will not affect your chance of conception at all!! It's scary in this day & age with so much info out there that you would think it is birth control!
