Yes a long time ago (8 years) my best friend slept with my boyfriend. I wouldn't say it's made me more suspicious. But what it did do was make me very guarded when it came to both men & women for a long time, I wouldn't allow either to get too close, & in the end I was the one that ended up hurting a lot of people.

I had to realized that it wasn't worth it. I couldn't continue to live a half life because I was scared of someone hurting me again, I wanted real friends & not just acquaintances & a real boyfriend that I could trust & not just some guy I'm dating. I made that choice about 5 years ago. And I can honestly say that yes I've been hurt by people since then, but I now live a very happy life full of friends & I have a wonderful boyfriend. (who knows that if he ever cheated on me it would be a long drop off a bridge gagged & tied for him, either that or I’d just surrender him to my 3 very large, very protective brothers ...lol)

I don't like to think of myself as suspicious... just aware.

I don't really get involved with people who claim to have NO INTERESTs other than me... it seems kind of fake and tricky.

If someone can admit that they have other attractions then at least I know they are honest - and I can work with that.

But this kind of blind romantic loyalty that some people claim to have is a little forced and never lasts for very long.

Besides, I know from past experiences that jealousy is one color that never wears well on me.... confidence is so much more attractive.

Yes I have. Become way more suspicious but also way smarter. Heart brake teaches you lots of things.

Yes, I have been, but I'm not with that person anymore. Am I more suspicous in general? I try not to be. I try to treat people as individuals and not assume just because one person did something unkewl when he was with me, that all guys I date will.

I'm more aware of red flags and don't gloss over things that just don't seem "right", as I did when I was younger...but I also hope I don't waste time seeing things that aren't there.

Certainly, and it is very tough. I mean, they did it once, so you know they are capable of doing it. Trust becomes a big issue, and it will be very difficult, if not impossible,to regain that trust. Much luck to you.
