Paypal is an "electronic payment" system that allows you to pay for items or services online. It connects to your existing bank account or credit card. Once you sign up for PayPal, you can send money to anyone with an email address using money from your PayPal balance or another funding option of your choice, such as a credit card, debit card, or your bank account. Many web sites, as well as ebay.com (the owner of Paypal), rely heavily on the service to allow payments to be made.

paypal is like a bank. You can set it up to have funds transfered into your regular bank account (For example, if you sell something on ebay, the money can go into a paypal account, then you can transfer it to your checking account so you can use the money.) It's basically a way to enter your credit card information without having to share that information with everyone you buy from.

It is a service that allows you to transfer money from person to person. Like if you buy something from me and I live in a different part of the world, you can pay me on paypal and I don't have to worry about your check bouncing and things like that.

It is just Ebay's branch and make millions every year. What it is it will take your credit card number, or debet card trasfer and pay your money to the seller, you bought the stuff from. It acutally protects you and you dont have to worry about giving your credit card number away. ON the other hand it rips the sellers or receivers off by charging them somewhat reasonable fees for receiving the money....Its safe but It cost to receive money...but no fee to send money...
