I live in a nowhere town, thats basically woods. Ive applied and applied and applied. the only places that want to hire me are 45 minutes away, i dont drive and i cant depend on a bus, my parents both work. I dropped out of school as a junior in HS. I want a job but cant find one and continuously tell my parents im trying as hard as i can, I didnt drop out to party, although it is nice sometimes. I dropped out to go for my g.e.d and get my life started quicker. plus with my school doing plenty of illegal things towards me with money, and other stuff like that. what am i supposed to do ? are they going to back off any time soon?

Im not being lazy. The buses in my town are never able to be relied on. I take them all the time to see my boyfriend. almost every other day and their usually over 3 hours behind schedule. Id never make it to work on time. My parents are very stubborn. they said i can have our 3rd car if i start working. but i cant start working if i dont have any transportation. My mother would prefer it if i didnt take the bus. Remember i live in the WOODS. theres absolutely nothing in this town. besides tons of gas stations and nail salons and pizza places. its small as hell.

No, because basically your living off of them. You need to make a deal with your parents where they'll buy you a used car so you can get the jobs that are offered to you and then pay them back slowly with a little rent thrown in. You made a choice in life now you have to follow through.

Why can't you depend on the bus??? Lots of people have to make do, and do all that it takes. If you are serious about wanting to work, you would take that job. 45mins is absolutely nothings to travel. Part of me is thinking that yes you are being very lazy and that your parent's have every right to be on your back. If you don't want to be at school you must work. I myself left school at 17, my first job was 90mins away, but I had to travel by public transport making my travelling time 6hours a day plus working 8 and a 1/2. Although I did not stay with this job forever, it provided me with experience, and made me grow up and take life a little more seriously. All these suggestions that the others have provided about doing a deal with the parents about getting a secondhand car are great if your parents are in the position to help you, but at the end of the day if you want to be an adult you have to take on all of the responsibility of being one.

well my boyfriend who is now 21 dropped out of highschool as a sophomore or junior i believe, and got a job, and got his G.E.D in the years of 2003. It just takes time to do things. What do you mean the school is doing plenty of illegal things? Just tell them your trying and that your doing the best you can..

Ok so I assume now that you have your GED. Now it is time to do what you said you planned to do and that is get your life started quicker. Ask your parents if they would loan you the money to get a car if you took the job that is 45 minutes away.
