What are the best blank DVD's dvd-r or dvd-rw to record on?

there really isn't much to choose from between them. any of the known names are just as good as each other, and the unbranded are not far behind but better value for money,but with a slightly higher failure rate

Some tech people say that the best blank are those with a gold or yellow side (the never explain why). Personally, I use any cheap brand and never had a problem. A lousy movie will not get the Oscar because it was dubbed on a 'yellow belly'.
