Were there more than just one? Did they prey? I need asnswers ASAP!

Were? They are still around.

And, they are the "Santee" - "Sioux" is a French name from an Ojibwa name for the Dakota people.

They are mostly Catholic, with a smattering of fundamentalist Protestant groups. The Mormons send missionaries, but only aggressive proselytizing keeps many converts within the fold of that outfit. The Dakota I've been around prayed a lot - they also preyed on game like antelope, deer, rabbits, and the like.
