I sometimes think that the reason why Whites don't really give a crap when Blacks call them racist names is because they know they are superior to Blacks...they have better jobs, more money, more power, responsible fathers are commonplace, practice proper etiquette, etc. The reason why many Blacks cry racism at the slightest derogatory comment perhaps because they suffer from an inferiority complex and have to act out their aggression in one way and crying racism fits the bill. Does anyone agree with this analysis? I am not White or Black, but I have observed and know many people from both groups and, in general, I get the feeling that Whites simply could care less if a Black person spews racist comments at them...they know they have a better position in life regardless. Am I wrong?

I think self confidance is a big part of it, besides the names they have for us are just so silly how can you really get angry at being called a honkey or a cracker??

I think you have a very valid point.

There is a REASON why Whites don't care when Blacks call them a racist, AND THAT REASON is that the Black people were putting up with the White people calling them on racist words for C E N T U R I E S, not just weeks. So the White man HAS NO REASON to even think that a Black man is wrong showing a little hatred or dislike towards a White man, the White man knows well what he has done.

I am not a racist, nor does anything wrong against any race. But I just said what I thought was right.

You may be able to formulate an opinion on this, yet it still does not make it indisputable fact. There are many factors at work to perpetuate hate and prejudice between the races--even today we see as much energy being used to maintain the rift as it is to repair it. If you are neither black nor white, what would be your take on the Michael Richards incident? Reportedly, his racially charged meltdown came after being heckled by two black men who were using racial slurs as well as being general pains in the butt--if these events are true, then would this be an exception in your analysis of the stainless steel demeanor of whites? I believe that if someone is provoked enough, they will either walk away, respond in kind, or go completely postal--that gives grayness to this black and white, superior and inferior caste that you seem to support. Racism is a real and valid problem in America--but to be human is a common denominator that transcends ethnic/racial ignorance...

Two points - though you are trying to make an argument the statement that whites are superior to blacks reveal you as a racists.

Now if both groups started on the same equal plain then yes maybe you would have a point but while white people have always been able to pursue their dreams, a black person who even wanted to learn how to read and write was punished for it. Now imagine how that would affect your views of success over generations.

And you have a very slanted view of white america. Most white americans have the same working class jobs as most black americans. Only very few americans in general have white collar jobs.

Finally,

White racial comments have for most of this countries history have been directly tied to violence. A black person who uses the word cracker has never gone out and killed a white person or burned crosses in their yard.

How funny is it that you are not white and you are in this country enjoying life and pursuing happiness but if it wasnt for these 'inferior' black trailblazers who made it possible you would be working in some sweat shop and definitely not allowed to go to the institutions of higher learning previously exclusive to whites. Non whites should be thanking the BS blacks had to go through for your asian or hispanic or indian rights every day.

Uh....no.

Other then a pinch of L/Dakota heritage, I'm a white girl. Who's had a tough time for quite a while...still living with my parents...broke...trying to find employment...having doubts about ever having a career...we aren't exactly rich and never were very well off...

So that sounds like better? The reason I don't tend to take racist words too personally is because IMO they are too general and are talking about too many people for it to even matter. I only take offense to insults that are personal.

And luckily, this area is pretty diverse and tolerant, I've heard very few color related remarks at me in my life.

Not superior to anyone. We just know that trying to talk to barking dogs is a losing battle. And anyone you wants to call me stupid racist names, is nothing but a barking dog. It's not worth the time it take me to even think about it, let alone get offended. I have so many better things to do and think about than something as stupid as someone calling me a racial slur. And, honestly, if the rest of the population would adopt this attitude, life would be a lot simpler and nicer. Ever heard the playground chant "Sticks and Stones"...get with the program people. Words can hurt you, and you shouldn't waste your precious time allowing them to.

What do you mean they know their superior to Blacks? You can't say that an entire group of people are superior to another based on their skin color. Money or occupation doesn't make you superior or inferior, it's about your heart and spirit.

Yes you're wrong, because no race is superior, but the reason nobody cares when white people are called racist names is because white people have no pride in their race anymore, because being proud to be white is considered racist and taboo. Everyone should be proud of who they are, and nobody should accept racism in any form.

Yes you are DEAD wrong. White people were not kidnapped, raped, hung, or forced to accept racial names. We were taught this entire language dude, white people created the few insulting words we can call them. We sadly enough are capable of putting a history of blood on the N word.

All racist terms for whites don't bother me a bit. They never have. They just don't hold any meaning for me. Why they have never bothered me I do not know. It's like if someone calls you a folder or a cabinet. It just makes me scratch my head.
