only to get divorced so easily?
This specific category of questions makes me wonder, WHY?
When you get married it is intended that you work through your problems, while not all problems can be worked through easily, most can.
What has happened to compromise?
Furthermore, where is our value of marriage?

If we know ahead of time how it will be, why marry that person? Sometimes we are fooled, but marriage is important and unless it is something extremely serious we should be trying to work through it.

The issues people have with sex... unless it is for medical reasons...husbands and wives should be HAVING sex. It is part of marriage and can mend day to day struggles. We should think to satisfy our partners needs, not our own...selfishness should not come into play with sex.

Our society has made divorce so easy and accepted, that people just dont try anymore. 50 Years ago, if you divorced, you were looked down upon because you didnt try hard enough. Now a days, people get married, have a couple of fights, and they are done. No need to try harder and work things out when you can move on to bigger, better fish. Its a sad commentary to say the least!!!!

Your question is so dead on I wonder the same thing myself.
Really when you see these ladies marrying guys who have already cheated on them a number of times it makes no sense.
Then of course you have the women that marrying the control freak he will change his ways when they are married. The most controversial couples though have to be the ones that are like lets get married fighting starts never ends and then its like lets have a baby maybe that will bring us closer what horsesh it. I believe that people don't know how to communicate anymore they thnk oh well I'm not happy I'm not getting enough sex lets just cheat on the one that we are suppose to love honor and cherish?. It's though some people not all don't realize that marriage is a sacred bond in the eyes of GOD and family witnesses. It is also people that are like oh I want a diamond so bad it hurts women are getting married just for the ring its pathetic but thats how materialistic this society has come. In the olden days people got married because of love and wanting to be together forever and alot of the time couldn't even afford a ring. Today people are getting married for tax breaks and to sit on there butts while the
husband works or vice versa. This world is going down and thats why I personally feel the second coming of God is just around the corner.

I got married to be with my husband for the rest of my life
To bring up our children in a safe enviroment
To have someone to moan at who can't run away lol
marriage is hard work, and problems should be worked through, however sometimes people make bad mistakes in marriage and they can't be rectified so it's better all round to seperate

now a days it is easier to get a divorce than it is to work on a marriage. I agree with you. Look I am on my second marriage (the first one was abusive) and I did NOT want to get married again, but my husband was patient and loved me and I trust him. I know that even though our marriage is not perfect and we will have bumps along the way I know that we love each other enough to work for our marriage.

I wanna get married so I can have children like the way God planned me to have them. The bible says I should get married before having children and becuz I am sure that my husband won't divorce me ( becuz he will be very Christian ) thats what I am going to do. I also want to get maried because I want to have somebody I can spend the rest of my life with. I don't want to be single forever. Thats just stupid. I can't wait to get married, it will be so fun. I'm sorry you think otherwise.

some people figure marriage is like love: doing something on a whim, a spur of the moment thing. probably people just get married because they're in love at the TIME, but maybe they aren't really ready for that kind of commitment yet.

Also, there are some people who don't want to get married.
