I guess I am going through a phase, (birthday coming up), I am so happy with how my life has gone, it is more then I could ever have expected and can only get better, and i was just wondering how others feel about their lives, i have a theory that my generation had little and appreciates more, yet all around anymore I see people unhappy and greedy and nonappreciative. Mind you i am only going to be 27, so how times change so quick is mind boggling. Just tell me if you are happy with what you have and where you are in life? thanks t.c. Randi

Randi - I find that mostly my life has been a balance of both good and bad misfortune. It has turned out totally different than I would have seen it at 27, but not in a bad way. Some things make me sad, but mostly I am happy. Happy Birthday. GB

oh my god,is it ever better than i thought it would be !5 years ago,my fiance was murdered,i lived in a small flat, and my family was miles away.i had a pitiful job,and everything was flat and bleak.but i took certain steps to crawl out of that, and now i am approaching my second anniversary with a wonderful husband.i have a whole new step family that i get along with.i have a job i enjoy.i have my own house, and we are buying a vacation house in mexico.i have all the pets i couldnt have in the apartment, and im even getting my dream,a horse ! and my family just moved 6 miles from my house.im glad i kept up my hope and stayed to see the next chapter.my life has done a complete turnaround.i suspected eventually i'd be happy again, despite the tragedy, but i never in my wildest dreams, could imagine how happy.never give up,anyone !no matter how bad! there is just no way of knowing how things can change-almost overnight! i thank god for every day,and for my wonderful new life.i'll never forget, but i honor my lost love by living the life he had wanted for me.if he can see me somehow,he's glad for me.ps-have a gr8 birthday, u have a wonderful outlook !!!!!

I suspect this might be with the benefit of hindsight... I'm not saying you're looking through rose-tinted glasses, although you might be, only that it often takes a while to appreciate events. Some of your life probably didn't seem that great while you were living it.

Personally I don't think I've got to a stage where I can look back on my life, or ahead, and make judgements. The judgements will always be clouded by my mood at the time.

That is absolutely wonderful that you feel that way. My life is good, but it is very different than I expected. I expected my life to be very career driven and being very financially independent, and probably still single. However it is in contrast now, I am a mom of 2, married, live in condo (not the big house I imagined for just me), and I do have a career but it is not the center of my universe - but I am glad for that.

At 26, I still have a lot of living to do, and I do not want my time to be up at 40 like Gerald Levert, I'm sure he didn't either. And I feel blessed that I have had a longer life than Aaliyah who perished at a precious age of 22, I was 21 when she passed.

There were times in my life when I expected a life of turmoil and disappointment.
Now at the age of 56 I can say that my life has turned out very well and I couldn't be happier with it.
I've been married for going on 34 years so at least I did one thing right when I was younger.

Yes. I've battled depression for nine years, and there were many times in my life where I wasn't sure I could continue living. I didn't see a future for myself five years ago.

But I'm still here; I fought off the depression and anxiety without the drugs, and I feel great. In fact, this is the first time in my life that I actually feel alive.

Thanks for the question. I was feeling down, but your question reminded me of all the reasons I stuck it out.

NO.

In the beginning, I had high expectations.

Things happened.

I failed to live up to my potential.

But, on the bright side... I've still got time to turn things around.

I suspect the future will be brighter than the past.

By the way... I'm glad things are going well for you. Keep doing whatever you've been doing.

Happy Birthday!!!

I am happy with my life. I went through some gawky phases where I thought I just wasn't good enough, but I've blossomed into everything I can possibly dream to be, just be forcing myself to stay self esteemed.

Happy birthday!
