How young is too young? Please awnser!?

I need some help witht this topic, so please everyone awnser! What are good things about highering the legal age of smoking? i need lots of pointers.

A good thing about it is that then kids have to be older to be able to buy smoking. They will be more mature to choose the right decisions, and lay out the consequences of smoking. Sadly most dont follow the law so it might not help much. According to Jonathan Edwards children are not born into an age of reason, and that is why they have parents. Eventually they will be able to reason, but after a while. People who are 18 are still young and many not mature enough to make decisions that can change their lives. I am only 16 and I have realised this. I am not mature enough. And though I am more mature than some teenagers, I know I am not mature enough to make that decision.

The answer, I believe, is the same one that was used to justify the re-raising of the drinking age from 18 to 21.
(A) 18 year olds are still not completely formed adults, and are not quite ready to make serious life changing choices that could put their health at risk (like whether to smoke).
(B) Most 18 year olds are still in high school. Thus, they become an easy conduit for younger children to receive cigarettes. When an 18 year old is smoking, and a younger kid asks to bum a cigarette (or asks the older kid to buy) what is the older kid gonna say, no? So, to keep cigarettes out of the hands of young kids, you need to keep them out of the hands of 18 year olds too.

The good thing about increasing the legal age of smoking is that fewer people will smoke. An argument can be made that young adults (16-21) are more easily pursuaded and manipulated than older adults. Thus, they are easier to pursuade to start smoking. If it becomes illegal, then fewer people will start smoking [I do not agree with this view/argument - I'm just answering your question]
