Of course! In other cultures no one would even wonder...in my teens I had many friends 10-12 years older than I--now that I'm in my '40's I never even think about my friends' ages, but they range from 10-15 years younger to that much older. Although I would caution about young girls with older male friends--touchy situation.

I am older than plenty of my friends, but only by about a year or so. However, I know several people who have friends that are 10 and sometimes 20 years older than them. My mom is in her forties and her best friend is this old lady who is already in her sixties! They have a friendship like no other!

This is an easy one. You sound young....

You'll find as you get older, (25 or so) that age really has no bearing ona friendship.

If this is about dating, 10 years is a pretty typical age gap in many relationships, 20 years? that's usually searching for a father/mother figure

Yes, it's okay.
Often, I'm told by my seniors that I'm more mature for my age than they were when they were age, and also that I'm wise beyond my years.
As for younger, yes, it's okay to be friends with someone younger--but I wouldn't see a need or have a want to be close friends with someone whose legally still a minor.
I think my oldest friend is about 60 years my senior.

Definately ok. My fiance and I are 24, and all of the people that we talk to on a regular basis are mid 30's. We just get along with mature couples that are settled down and don't want to just party and stuff. Their kids get in the way of plans sometimes, but it's worth it!

absolutely. and that means any kind of friendship. Friends are of the mind, not of the age. I have many friends 30 and more years different than my age
