f-8-3f = 3-7f+4
f-3f+7f = 8+3+4
8f-3f = 15
5f = 15
f=15/5
f=3

put all f's on the left side, and numbers on the right side:

f -8 -3f = 3 -7f +4
f - 3f + 7f = 8 + 3 + 3 +4

simplify

5f = 15

isolate f

f = 15/5
f = 3

f-8-3f = 3-7f+4
all the fs go on one side and the numbers on the other
f-3f+7f = 8+3+4
5f = 15
divide both sides by 5 so 5f/5 = f
15/5=5
f = 5

Okay... for you goofs getting a faaaaaaar wrong answer....

F - 8 - 3F=3 - 7F + 4

You must simplify like terms, first.

-8 -2F=7 -7F

Now you have to isolate the variable... F So subtract 7 from each side.

-15 -2F= -7F

We're still isolating the variable F. So now add 2F to both sides.

-15= -5F

Their both negative, so you can make them positive by multiplying by negative one ( -1).

15= 5F

Now to make the F nice and simple... divide both sides by 5.

15/5 = 5F/5

What's that come out to?

3 = F

So there... and if you need to show work, I just did it for you.
