hundreds of years (well, okay, probably more) women's survival in the world depended upon attracting a man, especially in the last several hundred years up to the 20th century when women were not allowed to get educated or own property. Economic survival has always meant making yourself pleasing to a man and convincing him you're going to take care of all his needs in exchange for a home and money to live on. Even though there have been a lot of economic changes in the last hundred years we still have a lot of these ideas hanging over.
Also, some mothers tend to pamper their boys and wait on them hand and foot. Not all of them, of course. But this is more common with mothers and boys. Girls are usually expected to pitch in with household chores from early on.

Most men don't actually believe that. But, if a man walks around with that attitude, there are many women who will find him 'confident and sexy' and will sleep with him. So he gets the idea that that is the right attitude to take.
It is a bad attitude to take in relationships, but a good one to take if you are just going out to get laid...

Not all men do--just the perverts. And they think that way simply BECAUSE they are perverts--to them, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, is about sex--especially woman, because sex can't be done without them.
Because woman are the most important part of sex for them, they are looked at by men as: sex.
